What to do to help him?

Hi everyone!
What would you do to help your 3.5yo when he says he has no friends to play with in daycare? He is reluctant to go daycare at times. He used to be full time and did well there but has reduced to 2 days during my mat leave and being home for about 2-3w for every covid outbreak. I understand this could be a reason but I really want to do something to help him not to feel being left out and later in primary as well.
Would be appreciated if there is any good advice?
